30-Jul-2008 - Version 3.4 Released - at long last |
With apologies for the delay, we are happy to announce the release of 3.4, the first major release since the original ScoreJudo and which includes a number of bug fixes and many improvements suggested by our user base.
Version 3.4 includes most of the fixups (I think) that everyone has been so kind to provide through the feedback form on the website - a hearty thank you to you all for taking the time to do this. Most of the changes will be immediately obvious when you start the new version, here is a short list...
1. A lot more keyboard shortcuts, most notably for the things you will be doing most commonly throughout a tournament (Hajime, Matte, Osaekomi, Blue is Tori, White is Tori Ctrl-A to reset ALL, etc etc).
2. "Quick jump" to various common bout times (e.g. Ctrl-F2 sets a 2 minute match time for juniors, Ctrl-F5 a five minute match and so on. Saves going into the setup screen all the time when you have juniors and seniors playing at random.
3. Optional player name display. These names are case insensitive, type em in any way you like and the program will do all the right things with upper and lower case. The ability to import player lists from typical tab or comma delimited spreadhseet exports, since many of you are in the habit of weighing in and registering players in a spreadsheet as they walk in the door.
4. Optional Banner display - e.g. "Welcome to the Ettamogga Judo Tournament" - with your choice of colours.
5. Borderless slave screen window - looks a tad neater on the big screen.
6. Fixed some silly bugs such as the shido problem and the Osaekomi (blue side) problem.
7. Optionally disallow the clock to automatically award osaekomi points - a small number of referees would rather the scoreboard NOT make automatic assumptions that a hold down earns a certain score for a particular time. This would rarely be chosen I suspect - but its there if you want it.
8. Slightly cleaner timekeepers screen with removal of those unecessary clickable links too close to other clickable links. This means a trip to the top menu for infrequent tasks such as Show/hide slave screen but these are typically done only one or twice in an entire tournament in any case.
I think that about covers this version (ver 3.4) - again, thanks to everyone for your bug tracking and excellent suggestions and do not hesitate to get back to me with any that I have missed.
